The Perfect Hard Boiled Egg

From time to time I want to try to teach you, the readers, a few easy techniques that I’ve picked up that can really bring your cooking to a new level. They aren’t anything groundbreaking but they can help make a novice a respectable cook.

Today, is the hard-boiled egg. It’s not my favorite way to make eggs (That would be over-easy) but if you can make a perfect hard-boiled egg you can add them to other dishes like salads and egg salad sandwiches. The best part is it’s so easy.

First, what you’ll need, and you should probably have your notebook out for this.

  • Eggs.
  • Water.
  • Salt

Yup, It’s that easy. Now all you need to do is put the eggs in a pot and cover then with cold water then add a pinch of salt.

Then, put it on the stove and bring it to a boil.

Once it starts to boil, immediately take it off the heat and cover it. Then just let the eggs sit in the pot for 15 minutes. They will continue to cook and after 15 minutes they will be perfect.Once the wait is over, put the pot in the sink and remove the lid. Run it under cold water until the eggs are cool enough to touch.

At this point you can do whatever you want with them. With a little mayo and some salt and pepper, you have a really good egg salad. I’m in a rush so I just ate them right out of the shell.
